Rendezvous at the Gardens / Rendez-vous aux jardins - 2025


The Rendez-vous aux jardins event was held in Croatia for the seventh time, with the theme „Stone gardens, garden stones,“ placing emphasis on stone, which as a material plays an important role on a symbolic, practical, or aesthetic level in the formation of parks and gardens.
Under the coordination of the Ministry of Culture and Media, special educational programs were organized at seven location across Croatia, in Ilok, Ludbreg, Opatija, on the island of Lokrum near Dubrovnik, in Poreč, Vrsine and Zagreb, and assistance in the organization was provided by the Conservation departments of the Ministry of Culture and Media in Varaždin, Vukovar and Rijeka, the City of Opatija, Parkovi d.o.o. Opatija, the Ilok City Museum, the Ilok Tourist Board, the City of Ludbreg, the Ludbreg City Museum, the Dragutin Novak Ludbreg Culture and Information Center, the Institute for the Sea and Coastal Areas of the University of Dubrovnik in cooperation with DEŠA - Dubrovnik association, Mate Balota Secondary School Poreč, Vrsine Branch School of Ivan Duknović Marina Primary School and the Botanical Garden of the Faculty of Science, University of Zagreb. Some programs combined the event Rendez-vous aux jardins with the traditional event Days of Botanical Gardens.
Since 2003, the French Ministry of Culture has organized the Rendez-vous aux jardins event on the first weekend of June, when various private and public gardens, parks, and promenades are open to the public throughout France, and since 2018, as part of the European Year of Cultural Heritage, it has been organized all across Europe.
